Prepare a Delightful Karva Chauth Thali with Proper Items

On the fourth day of the Hindu month Kartik, the festival of Karva Chauth is observed. On this sacred day, married women to secure longevity and prosperity in their husbands’ life go for performing rigorous fast from the early morning. Before the sunrise, they take their festive breakfast which is called “sargi” prepared by their mothers-in-law. Taking an early bath, women get adorned with bright colored saree, jewelry, bindi, nose pin, tika, bangles, and earrings, and on their hands and feet, they apply Mehendi which has been considered as very auspicious. In the evening, after offering prayers to Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva, and Lord Ganesha, women with their decorated Karva Chauth thali go up to the terrace and give ark to the moon by seeing it through the chhalni (sieve). After performing these rituals, their fast is broken with the first morsel of food given by their husbands.
